Higher Education Information Evening

Whether your child is undertaking their GCSE or embarking on A Levels, we recognise that negotiating the world of university open days, UCAS applications and student finance can be tricky.

The Shaping Futures Parents Information Evening, held to recognise World Access to Higher Education Day, aims to support parents to help their children through this important stage in their education journey by providing information and resources, as well as answering any questions they might have.

The evening will open with a talk, before attendees are able to select a workshop.

The provisional programme is as follows:
5.15pm – 5.30pm: Registrations and refreshments
5.30pm – 6.15pm: Introduction to Higher Education. Covering the range of HE options available, choosing a university and course and the UCAS application cycle.
6.15pm – 7.00pm: A choice between 3 sessions: Writing a Personal Statement, Introducing University Open Days or Introducing Student Finance.

Attendees will also have the opportunity at the end of the event to speak to Shaping Futures staff for any individual queries.

This event is free to attend and although it is targeted at parents, students and staff working in education are also welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
