Our capacity building courses will be led by global experts in their field and will focus on supporting members to enhance their skills knowledge and capabilities.

Our online capacity building courses will involve interactive group exercises as well as mini lectures from expert guest speakers. Each session will work toward a set of learning outcomes. They will be delivered online over one or two days. To ensure a quality skills development experience capacity of each course will be limited to 40 participants. All participants will receive WAHEN completion certification.

WAHEN members will be able to participate in the capacity building courses at a reduced rate.

November 2022: The first WAHEN capacity building course will focus on supporting progression to and success in higher education for disabled learners. This course will be led by Anthony Gartner (BSW, MSW), Senior Manager AccessAbility and Inclusion at La Trobe University, Bundoora, Australia.

6th and 7th of December 2022: Our second WHEN capacity building course will focus on how to support students from disadvantaged, or under-represented groups, to achieve their potential in HE and complete their studies. This course will be led by Emeritus A/Professor June Pym Education Advisor for The Saville Foundation, Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme (ISFAP) in South Africa (11 universities) and SAICA (South African Institute of Chartered Accounting).
