Policy initiatives on the right to higher education in El Salvador

The following case study examines the educational policies in El Salvador, where there are currently 41 higher education institutions—nine public (one university) and 23 private. In 1995, the state enacted a new Education Law aimed at modernizing the system and rebuilding the social fabric fractured by the internal armed conflict.
