By the World Access to Higher Education Day team
We’re continuing to receive lots of interest from educational institutions in getting involved with World Access to Higher Education Day on 28th November 2018. A great way to get involved is to show support for the campaign by registering as a supporter and most recently the following organisations have come on board.
University of Derby
The University of Derby is a public university in the city of Derby, England. It traces its history back to the establishment of the Derby Diocesan Institution for the Training of Schoolmistresses in 1851 and gained university status in 1992. Today the University of Derby is a modern university with a modern outlook. Everything they do is driven by delivering excellence and opportunities for their students, staff and region.
The National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) was established in June 2013 by higher education institutions and national organisations committed to the progression and support of Care Leavers in higher education. Working together NNECL aims to transform the progression of young people in or leaving care into and through further and higher education, by championing the continuous improvement of local practice, multi-agency partnerships and national collaboration.
Institute of Technology, Tallaght
Opened in 1992 as a European Demonstration College for Technological Education, the Institute of Education Tallaght is one of the leading higher education institutes in Ireland. It is accredited as a member of the European Credit Transfer Scheme for Higher Education Awards and has been awarded the Extended European Erasmus University Charter. The Institute has always prided itself on engaging with the community and will continue to appraise national and international research opportunities that play to their strengths and that have the potential to benefit the region.
