Conferences

Our conferences are taking place in the UK and Australia on World Access to Higher Education Day on 28th November 2018.

UK Conference: Beyond Borders

Host: National Education Opportunities Network (NEON)

Beyond Borders is the UK conference for World Access to Higher Education Day and will bring together, for the first time in the UK, organisations engaged in widening access and equity work from across the world. This is a unique opportunity for delegates to strengthen their existing work by learning about policy, research and practice in widening access work for home and international students from Europe, Asia, Australia and the US.

Speakers include Gillian Golden, Lead Analyst at the OECD, Julie Anderson, Policy Officer at the European Commission, Dr Rebecca Ward, Senior Technical Adviser at IREX, and representatives of access work from a number of European countries.

Our UK and Australian conferences will both be connected by a live link at a certain point in the day for truly global events!

Australian conference: NCSEHE Forum

Host: National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE)

Our Australian conference, hosted by the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) at Curtin University in Perth, is now open for registration. This event will engage national and international stakeholders to positively impact worldwide equitable access to higher education.

Participants include Professor Glenn Withers, Professor of Economics at the Australian National University, Professor Sally Kift, President of the Australian Learning and Teaching Fellows, NCSEHE Fellows Matt Brett, Maria Raciti and Nadine Zacharias, and a number of students who will be sharing their personal stories of overcoming barriers to success.

Philippine conference

Host: Silliman University and The British Council

The Philippine World Access to Higher Education Conference is being organised by Silliman University and co-presented by the British Council in the Philippines.
World Access to Higher Education Day serves as a platform to raise global awareness around inequalities in access and success in higher education (HE), and act as a catalyst for international, regional and local action.
The conference supports the first ever World Access to Higher Education Day on 28 November 2018 happening all over the world..
